Freddie mercury video barcelona. Unable to register ASUS serial number - solved. I think I would give support a call perhaps they can help out with determining the Serial Number issue 1-888-678-3688.
You may be looking to purchase replacement parts, look up specifications, drivers or (hopefully). For example this models serial number was W8921PTC66D. It should be near where the Asus name is on the laptop as shown in the red box. Method 1: Rebooting your system. Hit the 'Del' key when you see the BIOS - EZ Mode, you can check information on the screen. For example:PRIME. Select this option to display IMEI and IMEI SV. I decided to wait until I owned this tablet for a several months before writing this review, so as to give the best feedback possible after 'breaking in' the unit. Here is my full review..
Lots of people have complaints about the battery, especially with charge times. Pay close attention to what you are complaining about. Battery life is as-advertised and long charging is par for the course! With 10 hours of runtime in a quad-core tablet is pretty impressive at this price point and requires a rather high-capacity battery. It only stands to reason that it will take a solid 4-6 hours to charge (I bet you need a good 6 hours of sleep after a long 10 hour day, too!). Fastest charge times can be achieved by powering down the laptop while charging.
Windows 8 uses corners and edges, which confuses some users who don't know about them. First time users of Windows 8 should use Google Search to read up on them. YOU WILL NEED THEM!
The touchpad has built in palm touch prevention, requiring you to touch the pad twice after typing a while to get a response from it. Some users report this as a defective touchpad without knowing how it actually works. That said, ASUS could have done a better job of documenting this feature or in allowing the feature to be disabled by the user.
Dock attachment is a little loose after about a month of use, but this is likely exacerbated by my choice of case, which places a layer of leather between the tablet and dock. I can see how this might bother some users, but I see no signs that the docking connection has been affected by the slightly loosened dock clamp. The radius of wiggle room is only about 1 degree.
The [front|only] camera is of average quality in daylight, but pretty dismal results indoors and in any sort of low lighting. Turning the exposure levels to max helps some in low light. Rather basic video chatting is ok, but you won't be taking prized selfies using this camera.
Sparsely documented NON-ASUS issue #1: A windows update for the Intel -> Imaging Signal Processor 2400 <- breaks the camera. Rolling back this driver (device manager in control panel, under Imaging Devices) and hiding the broken update fixes the issue.
Sparsely documented NON-ASUS issue #2: Wifi driver (Broadcom) occasionally the wifi will disconnect while sleeping and not reconnect upon waking. Cycling Airplane mode will fix the issue. Let's hope MS or Broadcom fix this in a future driver update.
Sparsely documented NON-ASUS issue #3: A strict bit of code in Intel's chipset firmware prevents some UHS-I microSD cards from working reliably. Windows will disconnect the slot and not reconnect until reboot. Intel may fix the firmware with a future update. Avoid 'value' (read: cheap) UHS-I microSD cards 64GB or larger. Since the issue is related to the relaxed NCRC chips used in cheap cards, spending the extra $10-20 on the higher model card (getting a Samsung Pro instead of Evo, for example) will eliminate this issue (and give you much faster transfer speeds).
I have found that the touchscreen sometimes stops responding after several times of shutting down and starting up with the 'Fast Startup' option enabled in the Power settings (Control PanelAll Control Panel ItemsPower OptionsSystem Settings). A full reboot fixes the issue. That said, total boot times between having Fast Boot enabled (11 seconds) and disabled (20 seconds) differ by only 9 seconds..so disabling Fast Boot mode in Power settings will completely eliminate this bug in the touchscreen driver and add almost no time to boot. That said, I tend to rarely need to shutdown, as the tablet is very battery friendly in sleep mode alone.
In very short summary: Disable Fast Boot in Power Settings, rollback and disable the Intel Image Signal Processor 2400 driver update if the camera quits, cycle Airplane Mode if wifi quits, the touchpad goes to sleep when you type, long battery life requires longer charging, learn Windows 8 edges and corners.
Overall review summary: This tablet and dock combo greatly exceeds my expectations for a ~$350 tablet with a full dock. The hardware performance (CPU, RAM, GPU, SSD) is excellent and even runs one of my MMORPGs with relative ease. It isn't perfect, by any measure, but this tablet kicks the asses of everything else at the same price point. It has effectively replaced my full laptop for daily use. You also won't find another tablet/clam shell dock combo at this price..period!
